Itinerary

DAY 01: CUSCO – OPEN MALAGA – SANTA MARIA

We will start the pick-up of each passenger from the respective hotels in Cusco from 6:30 – 7:00 am and later a meeting with the Guide to give him a short Briefing before leaving the city of Cusco. then we will go to the Sacred Valley of the Incas passing through the towns of Iscuchaca, Huarocondo, Pachar, Ollantaytambo where we will make our first stop to take advantage of our latest purchases while having breakfast on behalf of each passenger. We will continue with the trip to the Malaga pass (4,316 masl) passing this point we will descend about 15 minutes more by car according to the guide's instructions due to possible fog and rain in the area, when we reach the starting point our guide will give you a talk about safety and prevention for about 10 minutes, then we will provide the complete equipment for this type of activity such as a full face helmet, gloves, knee pads and a reflective vest. Later we will begin the descent by bicycle for approximately two and a half hours, a total of (53 km approx.), until we reach the Archaeological Park of Huamanmarka, where we finish the tour with the bicycle and we will have a 10-minute guided tour. During the trip we will experience the beauty of the snowy peaks and the tropical forest —where our Peruvian Amazon begins—, crossing small streams, and we will enjoy the change from cold to tropical climate. During the journey there will be several stops to review bicycles and equipment. Once we finish our activity with the bicycle, we will go to Santa María (1,200 masl), where we will have our first lunch included in the tour. In the afternoon you will have the option of doing River Rafting (Canoeting) on the Vilcanota River for a total of 2 hours (15 minutes of safety information and equipment for each participant, 60 minutes of rafting on the river, 40 minutes of return to Santa Maria). This river offers us rapids from category I to III+. For this activity, a helmet, windbreaker and a category V life jacket are included. This activity is available between the months of April to December, and according to the Peruvian government it is mandatory to know how to swim to perform the.

DAY 02: SANTA MARIA - WANKAR Q'ASA INCA TRAIL - zip line - COCAL THERMAL BATHS MAY

After an energizing breakfast, we will be ready to do the first day of trekking to Waka Yupana total 5 hours of trekking then we will take a transport for 30 minutes to Santa Teresa where we will have lunch and in the afternoon the Zip Line. The first 2 hours we will start our very easy walk from Santa María to the beginning of the trail that goes uphill for 2 hours. We will pass through the cultivation fields of coca, coffee, yuccas, achote and tropical fruits of the area. Along the way we will have several stops to take breaks and learn a little more about the rich flora and fauna of the area with our guide. We will also stop at the house of a local family, where we will learn a little more about their customs and traditions. Later we will cross a section of the original Wankar Q'asa Inca Trail. that formerly connected the Sacred City of the Incas Machu Picchu with the last Inca refuge Vilcabamba, in the same way here our guide will explain a little more about the history of the Incas and also the communication system they had in those times. At this point we will also have some of the most impressive views of the entire Wankar Q'asa canyon. Then we will descend for 1 hour to the Waka Yupana sector where our transport awaits us to take us to Santa Teresa where we will enjoy a comforting lunch. After having enjoyed lunch we will do the Zip Line with one of the most trusted operators in the area. This activity is optional and lasts approximately 2 hours. we will enjoy this adventure activity that consists of cables anchored from one mountain to another, where a person slides by means of a pulley hooked to a waist harness. The tour lasts approximately 2 hours and the departure and arrival points are ground or aerial platforms installed on rock. The maximum speed of sliding down the cables is 60 km/h. After our Zip Line experience, we will go to the Thermal Baths of Cocal Mayo, a magical place with crystal clear waters and water wells with perfect temperatures to relax the whole body. DAY 03: SANTA TERESA – LLACTAPATA - HYDROELECTRIC – HOT WATERS

Our day starts early with an energizing breakfast around 5:30 a.m. Today is one of the most remarkable days of the whole adventure. At 6:00 am we take local transportation for 45 minutes to Lucmabamba. Here you will explore the tropical forest and visit an organic coffee farm where you will have the opportunity to taste fresh coffee - freshly roasted. During your visit to the agricultural field, you will get a brief informative introduction to the history of coffee in the region, as well as its importance to the area. Then you will continue with the trek to Llactapata along an original Inca trail that connects to Machupicchu for approximately 2.5 hours. On the way to Llactapata, you will see impressive views of the Santa Teresa Valley. In Llactapata you will get your first glimpse of Machu Picchu. From this peak, it is easy to see some sacred mountains such as the snow-capped Salkantay, Veronica, the main archaeological sites of Machu Picchu also the Huayna Picchu Mountain. We will explore this Inca site with the guide, and he will continue to tell the story of the Incas who used and worshiped this land. Of course, he will have plenty of time to take as many photos as he wants to capture these memories and share them with his friends back home! After visiting Llactapata, we will continue our 2-hour downhill hike. On this part of the trail, you will always be able to see Machu Picchu until we arrive at the Hidroelectrica train station for lunch. One of the most impressive sites in this area is the 300 meter high natural waterfall that generates electricity for the entire Cusco region! After lunch, we will arrive at Intiwatana, a famous ancient rock used as a sundial in the time of the Incas. The people used these two stones to measure and read the winter solstice, which was the beginning of the new agricultural season for the Incas. After passing this interesting Inca site, we will arrive at the train tracks that lead to the town of Aguas Calientes. DAY 04: HOT WATERS - MACCHU PICCHU -HYDROELECTRIC - CUSCO

The most important day of our trip is to get to know one of the 7 wonders of the Machupicchu world, and we have two ways to get there:

 The first is through the Inca Trail, this walk lasts 1 hour with 30 minutes of pure ascent. In this case, they must leave the hostel very early at 4:30 am to arrive at the Inca citadel of Machupicchu very early and appreciate the sunrise.

The second is by tourist bus, this short trip lasts 30 minutes. In this case they will have to take the first bus at 5:30 am to arrive early to Machupicchu then we can visit the Inca citadel of Machupicchu for approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes accompanied by a specialist guide who will explain to us about the historical legacy of the citadel of Machu Picchu, and the complete description of this great and stunning attractiveness. At the appropriate time at approximately 10:30 a.m. they must descend from Machupicchu to Puente Ruinas, which is 1 hour walking or by bus, which is 30 minutes, and then continue walking towards Hydroelectric between 2 hours to 3 hours approximately, there is also the possibility of returning by train. from Aguas Calientes to Hydroelectric (only time 1:30 pm is an additional cost of $35.00 dollars and optional and can only be reserved in Aguas Calientes preferably on the first day). In Hydroelectric our mobility will be waiting for you between 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm to return to the city of Cusco, arriving around 9:30 pm to 10:00 pm and in the rainy season there may be delays.
