The Mountain of the 7 Colors, also known as Vinicunca, is a mountainous formation in Peru that is characterized by its diverse colors. It is one of the main tourist attractions of the country after Machupicchu. It is located in the Andes, more than 5,200 meters above sea level, is formed by 14 minerals of different colors that combine to form the imprecionantes and unique colors of the place.

DESCRIPTION

The Mountain of Colors is located about 100 km from Cusco, between the towns of Pitumarca and Cusipata, you can visit by either of the 2 routes, the walk by Pitumarca is about 40 minutes and by Cusipata is 1 hour and 30 minutes approximately

ITINERARY

Early, around 4:30 am , we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco to make the trip to the District of CUSIPATA where we will have 30 minutes approximately to have breakfast, then we will have 1 hour more of transportation until we arrive to the FULAWASIPATA sector where we will start the hike, after a brief talk, We will begin our hike at the foot of the snowy mountain range of Ausangate, a climb of approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes to the highest point of the Cerro Colorado, during this journey we will have the opportunity to see the different varieties of South American camelids, arriving at the Cerro Colorado, we will have time to take pictures of this enigmatic place. Finally we will continue with our walk of 1 hour of descent and flat parts to the starting point of the trek FULAWASIPATA where the driver will be waiting for us to return to the District of CUSIPATA where we can enjoy 1 hour of lunch, after lunch we will continue the return to Cusco arriving approx. 17:00 hours. RECOMMENDATION: We recommend staying at least 2 days in Cusco for acclimatization purposes, remember that although the hike is approx. 3 hours if you are not well acclimatized you may have difficulties during the journey.
