ITINERARY

DAY 1: CUSCO - MOLLEPATA - SORAYPAMPA

We leave Cusco at 4:30 am, in a private bus of the company until we arrive to Mollepata (2900 m.We arrive at our destination around 07:30 a.m., where we will stop for 40 minutes. where we will make a stop of 40 minutes to have breakfast which is not included, then we can organize our backpacks separating the 5 kilos of our luggage for the horses, then we take a transport to the beginning of the trekking, we begin our walk for a time of 02 hours approximately until arriving to Soraypampa (3900 m.a.s.l.) place of our lunch, after a rest in the afternoon we have the option to climb to the lagoon of Humantay (4200.m.a.s.l.). After the visit of this beautiful lagoon we return to the camp and there our cooks will be waiting for us with tea time and then a short rest before dinner. 12 km and 5 hours approx. of trek.

DAY 2: SORAYPAMPA - HUAYRACMACHAY - COLLPAPAMPA

This day we wake up very early with a coca tea that will be served in the tent and then breakfast to start our hike, we have 04 hours approx. of ascent from Soraypampa to the Salkantay pass (4,630m.a.s.l.) the highest point of the whole trek, during the ascent we will be able to appreciate the change of ecological floor from the Quechua zone to the Puna zone, if the weather favors us we will see the majestic Apu Salkantay (6,271 m.a.s.l.) which is one of the most majestic mountains in the world.) which is one of the most important mountains in the geography of the department of Cusco and one of the most important mountains in the Inka culture, after an explanation about the area by our specialized guide we will start with the descent of 02 hours to Huayracmachay (3900) place where we will have lunch, After a well deserved nap we will continue with the descent for 03 hours and 30 minutes to the community of COLLPAPAMPA (2900) place where we will spend the second night in this last part of the day we will appreciate the geographical change between the cold and dry zone that we were in the previous days to the humid and tropical zone, we will also appreciate the change in the local flora and fauna we can see different types of birds as well as different orchids, we will arrive at the camping point around 6:00pm. Here you can take a hot shower (Optional with an extra cost of 10 soles). As the previous day we will have tea time and then dinner and overnight. 22km and 10 hours approx. of walking.

DAY 3: COLLPAPAPAMPA - SAHUAYACO - LUCMABAMBA

This day will be incomparable and unforgettable because during the walk we will be able to see a great variety of flora and fauna, starting from COLLPAPAMPA (2900 m.a.s.l.) our descent through the vegetation.) our descent through the local vegetation, near the course of the river Santa Teresa, where we also observe several varieties of orchids and 01 large waterfall, we will also feel the great climate change because this day we will enter the area called Ceja de Selva or Selva Alta, then we will arrive at Playa Sahuayaco (2060 m.a.s.l.) place where we will have lunch made in the jungle.) place where we will have lunch made by our cook route, after lunch we will go to the village of Lucmabamba where we will spend the third night, in the afternoon passengers prior coordination with the guide may visit the thermal baths of Cocalmayo (Optional cost) 14 km and 5 hours approx. of travel.

DAY 4: AGUAS CALIENTES - MACHUPICCHU - CUSCO

The most important day of our trip is to get to know one of the 7 wonders of the world Machupicchu, and we have two ways to get there:

  • The first is through the Inca Trail, this hike lasts 1 hour with 30 minutes of pure ascent. In this case you will have to leave very early from the hostel at 4:30 am to reach the Inca citadel of Machupicchu very early and appreciate the sunrise. 

  •  
  • The second is by tourist bus, this short trip lasts 30 minutes. In this case you will have to take the first bus at 5:30 am to arrive early to Machupicchu . then we can visit the Inca citadel of Machupicchu for 2 hours and 30 minutes approximately accompanied by a specialist guide who will explain about the historical legacy of the citadel of Machu Picchu, and the full description of this great and imposing attraction.

At the appropriate time at approximately 10:30 am should descend from Machu Picchu to Puente Ruinas which are 1 hour walk or bus which are 30 minutes, then continue walking to Hidroelectrica between 2 hours to 3 hours approximately there is also possibility to return by train from Aguas Calientes to Hidroelectrica (only schedule 1:30 pm is an additional cost of $ 35.00 dollars and optional and can only be booked in Aguas Calientes preferably the first day). In Hidroeléctrica our mobility will be waiting for you between 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm to return to the city of Cusco, arriving around 9:30 pm to 10:00 pm and in rainy season there may be delays.
